We follow the Canadian Organic Standards published by the Organic Federation of Canada (https://organicfederation.ca), but we will not be pursuing official certification (it would be VERY expensive to retrofit our property to the high standards required). We use only approved organic fertilizers, locally produced composted manure, and natural pest control methods. We are committed to promoting harmony between the animals, plants, soil, and microorganisms that coexist on our property.
We respect the land that sustains us, the plants and animals that feed us, and the people and community we serve.
We seek to foster a deep connection with the individuals and businesses within our community, as well as to more closely connect our community to the food they consume.
As nurses, we have devoted our lives to promoting and sustaining the health of our communities. We are now expanding that care into promoting individual and community health through providing ethical and nutritious food.
Regenerative agriculture is farming and ranching in harmony with nature. Regenerative growers foster and protect relationships—between people, lands, waterbodies, livestock, wildlife, and even microbial life in soil. The goal is to nourish the land as well as the people, and leave the earth in better shape than we found it.
We love listening to, and playing, a variety of music and instruments! We're both still learning, but we don't sound terrible ALL the time.
